Sweet and light read.

The conflict toward the end was slightly underdeveloped, IMO. It came from nowhere, fortunately it was solved without unnecessary drama.

“Is this something you can explain to me without glaring at them?” Carter reached for her other leg and Summer tried to ignore the delicious tingle that shot up from her toes at his touch.
“Sorry,” he muttered. “I’ve just never been in their sights before. I heard rumors, but I never thought it would happen to me.”

A) Farmers don't internally pause to headcount animals they have to f'ing feed everyday. B) Is that a lot? Boo, really?

Bottom Line

This is my second attempt to read a Lucy Score book. I should've known better:/

It's just not a writing style that I can tolerate. I'm bored with what's going on. It's vanilla and dull. I'm distracted by all the writing habits that I find annoying. It's getting closed at seven percent.

Out of 169 Amazon reviews, 141 gave five stars, 20 gave four stars, seven gave three stars, one gave two stars, and none gave zero stars.

Anyway, I can't attest to the plot or characters ... Good, bad or indifferent. I also won't be leaving a rating. But, I did want to leave a review on MY OPINION r/t writing style ~

I feel like Lucy Score was playing with a story filters app and forgot to remove "cliché" before hitting publish on this one. Or maybe she felt pressure to make it longer than it ended up so she dumped extra things in to draw it out? I dunno. This ended up being a mess and I kind of hated myself for feeling the need to skim to the end even after the last vestige of my enjoyment died.

I lasted a long time on just how yummy Carter is. He's my favorite type of hero—the strong and capable guy who loves deeply, is fundamentally kind, and does his best to help and support those around him. Seriously, adding wounded war hero is just a particularly decadent icing on the top of that sinfully rich cake.

And for a while, I rather liked Summer, too. I loved that she could tease back and that she was willing to let herself be charmed by him and his family. She rolled with the weird and showed up with her own twists and that was fun in the first third or so of the story. Which is when I started worrying because it was pretty clear that they were attached, and probably in love, that early on and I wondered what Score was going to do to extend this story out.

And I was completely right to be worried. Because what she did was add a bunch of stupid things to clutter up what should have been a really straightforward story. I had forgotten the hints of a secret that came in early, but I really shouldn't have. Because as it went on, it turns out that Summer not only indulges a secret-keeping idiocy, but then it leads to a completely stupid dark moment with my very least favorite tacked-on nonsense of unilateral action "for their own good". So Summer became a stupid cliché and that's when my brain started picking apart all the other dumb things that don't actually work. Like the super-hippie, free spirited community that is completely free of freeloaders, bad feelings, jealousy, or vindictiveness all while being self-sustaining, and full of whacky businesses that magically thrive because it's a super-hippie, free spirited community and an author is there to say so. Or that Carter could ramp-up the family farm operation in just a few years with no training or preparation beyond being in the army. Or that he just stopped eating meat years ago for sentimental reasons with no mention of adjustments or accommodations to keep his fine, athletic and richly-muscled form (yes, it is possible to do this, but it takes care and planning and the kind of intentionality that seeps into the rest of your lifestyle and should have been visible to an outside observer like Summer supposedly is).

And can I say how deeply stupid it is to make the title

Anyway, this held onto a second star on the strength of Carter being so very much my jam and because I skimmed (rather than subjecting myself to reading) the last quarter or so just to find what the stupid secret actually was. I'm sad it ended so badly. I really liked the start all the way up until I got antsy that things were going too well. Sigh. I should have listened to my instincts and stopped to make up my own story from there...

A note about Steamy: There are, like, sixty or seventy explicit sex scenes in this story making it to the high end of my steam tolerance. Well, okay. The high end of my steam tolerance is true. I exaggerated the actual count by a factor of 10. It just felt like so much more because I wasn't really buying it. I mean, they were cute and I wanted them to be together and all. But I didn't need to see every new technique they chose to try out...

No More Secrets is the type of comfort read that is perfect for the start of the year. A book to cozy up with on a cold January night, this story was like a warm hug, jam-packed with small-town charm, lovable characters, and so much heart.

No More Secrets was a lot like Whiskey Chaser, so if you're a fan of that book, I highly recommend giving this one a try.

Sign me up for the rest of the Blue Moon series...

I'm quickly becoming a Lucy Score fan. Her quirky, humourous, entertaining and lovable characters come to life for me and I am always satisfied with how the story has played out. The only problem with starting a series like Blue Moon is that I'm desperate to go back for more. The only problem is...I have bought two new books and one of my pre-orders have hit my Kindle this week. I think I'll buy #2 and see which book my download finger hits first. I SHOULD read what I've bought...but the struggle is real.

In No More Secrets we meet Carter and Summer when the magazine Summer works for decides to do an article on Carter's organic farm. Within minutes of them meeting each other, it was obvious there was attraction and sparks flying. Summer is staying at the farm for a week but they are both hesitant to act on their attraction. It's not like this city girl would leave her glamorous life to live on a farm, or, the farmer would ever leave his peaceful existence. But, the heart wants what the heart wants.

I really, really enjoyed reading No More Secrets. At first, I admit to falling under Carter's spell and thinking Summer might not be good enough for him. Summer's job is very demanding and she has made her career her life. With time on the farm, she realises that all work and no play is not making Summer a happy camper. I absolutely LOVED that Carter knew Summer was scared and was willing to wait and not push her too far too fast. In the end, it would take a bit of compromise, a lot of love and no more secrets to get to their happy ever after.

The people of Blue Moon were lovable and quirky and made me want to visit this small town. Carter's brothers Beckett and Jackson were great men and I can't wait to get to their stories. Pheobe, Carter's mother was very cool and I loved her "favourite son" of the moment comments, it reminded me a little of the tongue in cheek conversations I have with my own sons.

No More Secrets does deal with some heavier subjects but I think they were handled beautifully. Carter is a returned soldier suffering from PTSD and Summer has had some health issues. Nothing too heavy or dodgy and when these subjects were discussed, I was never too uncomfortable.

No More Secrets was sexy, funny and very entertaining and I was left completely satisfied at the end. I will definitely be reading more from this author and the Blue Moon series is at the top of the list.

3.5 stars. Sweet, sexy, cute read! The writing wasn't the best writing, but I really liked the hero. He was such a sweet loving man! The h wasn't bad but in the beginning I felt she was more into her magazine then him. lol At times I felt like it was too slow for me but it got better and they make a sweet couple. Some sexy hot times with really sweet moments. I wish there was an epilogue but it ended with them being strong. I loved hero's brothers but not sure if I want to read their books if they get one.

both hadn't had sex in a long time. no mention of herione past. very little on hero's past. we know he had a few meaningless flings when he got back from the army. That's it. I don't take him as a manwhore. He is super sweet! The only other thing mention is when h and H are about to have sex for the first time ,they start to without a condom and hero mentions he has never been without not even the time when he was 16 and had a girl go to her father's barn and get naked.

AGAIN WTF IS THE COVER. I hate it so much HAHAHAH

I enjoyed this book for the most part. It wasn't quite what I was expecting, which was good, but I found myself growing a little bored past the halfway point. The start was promising, if not cliche, but somewhere along the way, the spark fizzled out. The writing was very engaging, and the end was sweet.

What I liked:
1) The dual povs, written in the third person. I liked hearing from both MCs. Carter actually sounded like a guy (until things got sappy). I really do enjoy Lucy Score's writing. This needed another edit, but the mistakes weren't so bad that they disrupted the flow of the story.
2) The H. He was so sincere and sweet. As far as an NA romance H goes, Carter was too good to be true. He wasn't a manwhore. He was a war veteran and a honest to goodness, down to earth, treat his lady right, kind of guy. What's not to love?
3) The secondary characters are well developed. It didn't feel like they were included in this story with the sole purpose of selling a spin-off book. Although I know that the other brothers are getting their own books, I enjoyed reading about them in this one.
4) Absolutely no cheating or ow/om drama. So great.
5) The community described in this book. It was just so sweet, if not a little nosy.

What I didn't like:
1) No epilogue.
2) The h is a runner. Boo! Hiss!
3) I would have liked this story even more if the relationship between the MCs had more development. It felt a little rushed to me. Other than that, I like how they got along and were friendly before they got down to business.
4) The end just devolved into a huge sapfest. :(

4.5 Stars! Good start to this small town romance series.

All the ingredients I love for this type of romantic trope. Looking forward to continuing with this series to see where it goes. I've got both feet firmly planted in Blue Moon!

I LOVED this story. There is nothing better than when I have a great reading streak and this was the second 5 Star rating for me in the past 2 days!!!!!!

I loved both Carter and Summer and theie relationship developed perfectly for me throughout. The secret that she was keeping, I really don't like in my stories and although I wasn't totally sure, I was starting to think it was what it was the more and more as the story went on! Now, with that being said, I hope that I get more from this beautiful couple in the future......with all the bells and whistles, I hope, wink, wink:)

The whole family was intriguing and I can't wait to continue with this series for sure:)

Great book Author Lucy Score!!!!

This is my 2nd book by Lucy Score. I read her recent release, The Christmas Fix. I loved that one- the writing style, the H & h chemistry, the humor. I just love a RomCom.

I kept hearing about Lucy Score on another author's Facebook group. A couple of my friends on FB & also Goodreads raved about this series. (yay Ann).

I found a lot of humor in this book. About 3/4 of this book is a lot of fun. There's some serious emotions at the end of the book. Carter is so realistic, but I love how he is with Summer.

I noticed that this book was originally released in 2016 under the book series name Pierce Brothers.

The Blue Moon book series starts out really fun. The h, Summer comes to Blue Moon Bend in upstate NY.

She comes to town to write a magazine article about Carter Pierce and his organic farm.

Yes, there's instant sparks. Carter is a little gruff at first. His barriers soon fall to Summer's sunny charms. She's there for a week, but really gets involved with Carter and the towns people.

The towns people of Blue Moon are all terrific supporting characters. I was constantly cracking up at their antics. Everyone knows everyone & everyone's business.

The town has it's own FB group! Better to gossip with my dear.

Carter's 2 younger brothers are equally hunky and even funnier. Beckett is an attorney and the mayor of Blue Moon. The youngest brother, Jackson (Jax) has just returned home after several years in L.A.

This is 3rd person POV. This is a quick, fun read.

As I previously mentioned, this book was originally released in Jan 2016. There is one scene where Summer is at an event in NYC. A man -an acquaintance- puts his hand on Summer, on an inappropriate place. I really liked how Summer handled this AND how Carter handled it ! I can't believe how timely that scene is. Go Summer ! Go Carter. Nope, no no. Not letting that go.

4 Mooner STARS !

Lucy Score's secret power is the way she builds family, community, love, connection, and home, quickly, smoothly, and silently, like a Love Ninja without you knowing it.

Suddenly, you are as immersed and connected and "home" as the characters, regardless if you have ever personally experienced this or just hoped for it, or saw it in a rom com movie.

Her characters are perfectly imperfect, flawed, struggling, and facing legitimate issues and pains. And always, always, there is at least one person who is there who is the right mix of overwhelming love and support, to hold them up through the deepest 💩 and just the right shake and knock upside the head when they are need of a reality check, to get their head out of tgeir arse and stop being stupid and getting in their way.

What touches me the most are the true, honest, terrifying moments when these beautiful souls take a blind step into the scary unknown and open themselves to vulnerability. They share truths they've clung so tightly to protect in order to finally share their true love and feelings for those who matter most.

Each book brings me to my knees and makes my eyes leak.

I feel so deeply because I KNOW how hard that is. I've LIVED how hard that is.

And when I see, witness, and know of others doing that, taking that blind step into the unknown, being fully vulnerable and open and brave, I champion them.

THAT is true courage and resilience. THAT is honor. And THAT is what Lucy Score does best.

One of my favorite phrases she wrote in this book says it all.

"Most importantly, I learned that our real strength is in vulnerability. In facing and living the truth no matter who’s watching. That is where we are strongest."

Her books are uplifting, encouraging, and remind me of the small community I was so blessed to have grown up in.

The sex? Yes, that's not too bad either, it's like a good side dish to a gourmet feast.

I “discovered” Lucy Score this summer with her co-written series Bootleg Springs, now that I binge read that, I’m going back to read some of her back list. Being a lover of small town romance, of course I picked the Blue Moon series and if book one is indicative of what’s to come in this series, I picked wisely. No More Secrets pits a reclusive farmer who suffers from PTSD from his time in the army and an outgoing, perky journalist tasked with doing a story on the organic farm and the family who runs it. I enjoyed this slow burn romance quite a bit, but it was the town of Blue Moon Bend, the Pierce family, and the quirky residents of Blue Moon that drew me in and made me want more.

Carter Pierce wants nothing more than to live his quiet life, work the family farm, and spend time with his family. He’ll do anything to keep the farm running including subjecting himself to an interview he really doesn’t want to do.

Summer Lentz doesn’t mind being sent to upstate New York for a story; it’s only a week and she knows she’ll return to the city and continue to work towards her goal of eventually opening her own online magazine.

I loved the sizzle between Carter and Summer from the start even though they did their best to try and deny it and the fact this was a slow burn romance. As Summer was indoctrinated into the Blue Moon ways, readers also began to see just how unique the town can be. I appreciated that Summer dove into the “job” of being a farmer and she didn’t complain. She wanted the experience and Carter was determined not to take it easy on her and she proved she was up for the job.

As they grow closer and start a physical relationship, Carter lets go of some of his secrets, but as Summer sees the life Carter wants she knows she can’t be part of it.

While at times this book dragged, there were moments of sweetness, hilarity, and sadness, but through it all the Pierce family welcomed Summer into their lives making it harder for her to stay away.

No More Secrets was an enjoyable romance, but it was the glimpse of possible pairings to come that really excited me.

Reads like an after school special

Very PG rated love story with lousy pace. Didn't like the heroine very much but the hero was likable. Don't much cAre for insta-love. I felt like I was reading a Disney fairy tale.

This is the second book I've read by this author, & I thoroughly enjoyed this as I did with Pretend You're Mine. It's cute with very likable MCs as well as the little town they're in. It's a bit fast paced, but it was a smooth read. Something to read if you want a little pick me up! And the Pierce brothers are hot & hilarious! I'll definitely be reading their stories too.

A book that's boring, but not bad. Nothing was even wrong but I just finished it and I can't remember anyone's name. I bookmarked ZERO pages.

THEY NEED TO USE THE KINDLE COVERS OMG. It was way less trashy romance (although that’s what this was and it sucked. Way to cheesy compared to other Lucy score)

I didn't expect much from this considering I was not a fan of Lucy Score's Things We Never Got Over, but in shocking events, this book won me over by the end. I'm glad this series is being rereleased because I love a small-town/ cowboy/ rancher romance to my CORE. This series is also the SHORTEST of Score's books, considering I've only ever seen her write books over 400 pages.

The Blue Moon series takes place in a small town of upstate New York, and Carter Pierce is finally happy to come home and settle down until he meets Summer Lentz. Summer is a big-city journalist and is here to write a story about his family. She's out of place in her designer clothing and doesn't know anything about the ranch life, but the more he tries to push her away, the easier it is to let her in.

I think if you enjoy the When in Rome series by Sarah Adams, the small-town vibes of Gilmore Girls, and the city-girl x townie trope of The Simple Wild by K.A. Tucker, you'll love this!

I settled on a three-star because that's all this book felt like to me. I wasn't obsessed with them, but by the end, I found them cute. I NEVER mind the third-act breakup because I LIVE for angst, but this one was SO dumb. It was completely out of place and awfully paced. This book is 263 pages and the breakup was so unnecessary and last not even 20 pages.

I own book two, so I will hopefully be getting to that once I cull my active reads a bit. This has restored my faith slightly in the author, but I hope the series gets better as it goes on!
